“Cotton of Greece” is a one-of-a-kind project uniting sustainability, traceability, and quality from cotton seed to yarn. The transportation distances for this cotton are all short because every stage of production – from cultivation to spinning – take place in Greece.
The cotton is also GMO-free and cultivated using water-conserving techniques by family-run farms, and processed with renewable energy. The yarns have been compliant with the GOTS standard since 2023. Due to its high quality and fiber length, this cotton has a long life.
Sheep cannot be kept under factory farming conditions. They bring areas into cultivation which are otherwise not suitable for farming. This is particularly the case in Patagonia at the southern tip of South America. The dry down-slope winds of a region larger than Germany make it unsuitable for other agricultural use. The animals there are also little affected by insect infestation.
Therefore the use of pesticides is often not necessary and the painful practice of Mulesing is unknown. Large areas allow the sheep to live in nature and complete freedom. Twice a year the animals are caught for the shearing and a health check up. That is why we use wool exclusively from these areas for our various products depending on the field of application.

The first sock yarn with biodegradable, fiber-reinforcing polyamide.

ONE STEP AHEAD
We have been using robust sock yarns made of eco-friendly,biodegradable polyamide since 2019. For the 2020 collection all of our yarns for hard-wearing applications with an eco-friendly polyamide content of up to 25 % were switched over to Amni Soul Eco® technology.
